We woke up this morning and found the following in our email and just had to share it with you!

This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means In The Moment Photographs is one of the very best in Wedding Photography.

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

Ready To Rock In 2009!

Happy New Year to all of you! We want to thank all of our clients, family, and friends that have supported us throughout the year, as all this that we love so much would not be possible without you!

The holiday season was so busy, we hardly had a chance to wish you all a happy holiday. I feel like such a blog slacker! But it was great getting to visit with family and friends, as things were a little different for us this year and involved a bit of traveling. We hope your celebrations were great!

Now with all the festivities behind us, we are ready to rock in 2009! In the coming weeks we will be bringing up a new face to our blogs. Last year we split the portraits into their own space http://www.pinstripes-polkadots.blogspot.com/ to help our clients find stuff easier. We will keep the blogs separate, but make them a little easier to get from one to the other, as well as a whole new look.

We are also revamping our weddings and portraits websites. All new favorites from 2008 will be added as well as a revamp of some of the sections. It seems like we never get to this during the year as we are so busy making sure we take care of our clients.

We are almost 50% booked for 2009 already! We tend to fall in love with our couples, and whether big or small, all our weddings are awesome! We cant wait for our weddings coming up in 2009, and we would love to capture your wedding for you too! If you are considering contacting us about our wedding photography services, please do not wait too long! Even in this sluggish economy, the brides are booking and moving ahead with their wedding plans!

We will be rolling out some new offerings in 2009, so stay tuned for more info on those in the coming weeks!

It seems like some days that the world is unsure of what 2009 will bring. Whatever it brings, I can tell you that we are ready to rock in 2009! Come along and rock with us!

Roadside Families

A couple of months ago, we were contacted by photographer Oana Hogrefe about being her "photographer family" for the Roadside Families project. This was our first introduction into a new project started by John Michael and Dalisa Cooper of Alt F. This is a "pay it forward" project that can best be summed up by this statement on the Roadside Families website -

"Kicking off on the VeryAltF tour of ‘08, John Michael and Dalisa Cooper start a Pay-It-Forward project to help photographers get in front of the lens with their families. Something photographers are notorious for not doing. These are their stories."

So just as Oana photographed our family, it is now time for us to continue our "families" thread by photographing another photographer family. We chose our good friends and photographers Anna and Spencer Clark. We started our session out at the nearby Sonic Drive In, where drinks were in order, especially the orange cream slush!

We next headed to the woods at Kennesaw Mountain for some fall color and fun!

We decided to end our session with some shots from the square in Marietta, on of our favorite places to shoot.

Be sure to watch the slideshow, again we were assisted by our wonderful 'Photographer in Training' and some of Emma's images are included in the show.

We would like to thank Anna and Spencer for being our Pay It Foward family and hope you enjoy your pictures! So now we pass the torch to them for the next family in our roadside families thread. I wonder who they will pick!

Fall Teen Grunge Session

Over Thanksgiving we trekked to Virginia to visit Cat's brother and his family, and of course we brought our cameras along. Having teenagers, we decided to work on our "Senior Session" offerings by taking the kids out for an urban grunge session.

Driving around the small town we found a couple of great, distressed warehouse areas that provided an awesome backdrop for some grungy shots with attitude.

Our niece, Casey, had a great time modeling for us. She can't wait till we come back over the Christmas break so she can model again! I need to find a cool dress for her to trash while we are there! Here are some of our favorite pics of her.

Our son, Colin, was not really along to model, but was a good sport and we were able to get some cool shots of him as well. He really fits in well with the grungy locale.

Enjoy the slideshow! We had such a fun afternoon with the kids and look forward to our next 'playtime'.

Shoot Out In The Dark

At our last PUG (Pictage User Group) meeting, we decided to have a photography shoot out to do something on the really fun side. So, twelve photographers and two couples headed out into the darkness to see who could get cool images. There was just one catch, Available Light Only - NO Flash Allowed! As professional photographers, we often are challenged by things such as no flash ceremonies, both inside and out, and we still have to deliver great images. There's nothing like a night time outdoor candle light ceremony with no lights!

Below are some of our favorite images from the night! Oh, and we have to thank Anna and Spencer, also photographers, for putting down their cameras long enough to be models for us! Thanks guys!

Crystal and Jonathan's Intimate Wedding - A preview

Saturday, our good friends Crystal and Jonathan tied the knot in a simple, outdoor ceremony in Carrolton. Having contemplated just running off somewhere exotic and getting married, we are glad they decided to stay close to home with a few family members. This gave us the chance to capture a few images for them before they headed off for Charleston for their honeymoon.

Friday it was raining cats and dogs, and we were wondering how Saturday might be. But as it turned out, it was a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding! After dirving around the block numerous times, we finally find the little park where the ceremony will be held. We must have passed this park 5 times and did not realize it! Once we caught up with the couple putting on the final touches for the ceremony.

Here was the first guest to the wedding! He followed us around and even tried to climb in Cat's camera bag and come home with us.

Once the park was decorated, we took Crystal and Jonathan on a short photoshoot starting out on the town square.

This next shot was taken in this great alleyway. Jonathan informed us that this alleyway used to be a building, and in fact it was a barber shop where he used to get his hair cut as a kid. I think they are standing where the barber chair used to be!

When we first got into town, we did some scouting and found this old abandoned caboose sitting on a railway track. When we got inside, we all went WOW at the light coming into this trashed out caboose! (Crystal, can't wait to come back and shoot in it again soon!)

I think at this point everyone had just about arrived, and Crystal was ready to get things rolling 20 minutes early!

Finally the moment arrived, and you could see the emotion on their faces as they said their vows.

She was all giddy just before the kiss! I know she was so excited to finally be Jonathan's wife.

Instead of a guest book, they had their favorite image from their engagement session matted for their guests to sign, it was a perfect setting to show off their rings. I love what Jonathan's son wrote on it!

Heather & Kevin's Engagement Session

When we first met with Heather and Kevin a few months ago about their upcoming April wedding, we knew that they were a very fun couple! As they put it, "we are just a couple of cut ups"!

This past Sunday, we shot their engagement session, and we really got to see just how much of a fun and loving couple they really are!

We started out at Piedmont Park in the late afternoon for some fun shots. It did not take Heather and Kevin long to get into the swing of things, as we followed them about the park.

We found some beautiful sun rays on the stone steps by the tennis courts and found that flare!

Then we ventured to the other side of the parking lot to a secluded area called the "Reading Circle". Seems reading was not on their minds...

Over at the pond we found some ducks and a chance to get playful!

There was this great tree in the park and with a boost from Kevin, Heather tries to pose gracefully on the large branch. It was short lived as we found out that we could photograph the tree but not climb on it.

After a couple of hours at the park, we took a break and enjoyed dinner together at Qdoba. It was fun to get to know each other better. After dinner Heather & Kevin changed into 'party clothes' and we headed Downtown for some sunset shots. This turned out to be a great time to shoot and we got some awesome images for them.

All in all it was a great shoot and there were LOTS of great images, so as usual more of our favorites have been included in the slideshow! (click the image to start the show!)

Heather & Kevin we had such a fun time with the two of you and look forward to your wedding in April, though we have to get together again sooner than that :) I hope you enjoy your images!!!

Crystal and Jonathan's Engagement

We met up with our dear friend Crystal and her fiance Jonathan at the Roswell Mill for their engagement session. It was almost two years ago that we first met Crystal when we made a trip to Savannah to do Trash The Dress sessions in the fountains and streets of Savannah and at the Beach at Tybee Island. Since then, Crystal met Jonathan, the love of her life! Its always a priviledge to photograph for another photographer, and we are so happy to be able to do some engagement photographs for them!

There was a tree with just the perfect initials carved in it, making for a great shot.

We decided to head down the street for a few more shots at the Big Trees Nature Preserve. The leaves have not really started turning, but the sun filtering through the trees gave us a fun atmosphere.

Jonathan is a musician and brought his guitar and serenaded his beautiful wife to be (and us too!) . We have been spicing up our sessions lately by having the couple bring along something that shows their personality or means something to them. As we wondered the trails, Jonathan was picking and singing as we went and having a lot of fun!

Crystal brought along a prop of her own and it made for a GREAT series of shots!

Crystal and Jonathan, it was great to see you today and it was so beautiful outside! We cant wait for your wedding next week, and as simple as you say it will be, we know that the love that you share will shine and your wedding day will be beautiful!

Jena and DJ's Wedding Preview

A few weeks ago we received a message from Jena's mom looking for wedding photography for her daughter's upcoming wedding. When we met with Jena and her mom, we knew we were in for a treat with a beautiful outdoor September wedding ceremony with a family and friends that sounded like they were going to have a lot of fun. And this definitely turned out to be the case!

The wedding was being held in a rustic outdoor setting at the Hightower Falls Events Facility nestled in the hills in the Cedartown area. This turned out to be a great place that definitely matched the beauty and bubbling personalities of this beautiful bride and her handsom groom.

We started out the wedding day with an early appointment at J. Tanner Salon & Spa in Cartersville with Jena, her mom, and the girls.

Once we were done at the salon, we all headed towards Hightower Falls for final preparations before the ceremony. The facility contains the ruins of a 200 year old grist mill and the beautiful cascading falls coming down the side of the mountain.

Once we arrived at the facility, Jena and the girls took over the cottage for final preparations while DJ and the guys were hidden away on the other side of the property in the rustic cabins. Jena's dress was beautiful and was perfect for this gorgeous bride!

While getting ready, Jena & DJ's little daughter entertained us as she found lots of things to play with...

Once dressed, she needed to get some shoes to go with the pretty dress, I'm not sure which of the ladies they really belonged to

As the ceremony drew close, Jena donned her beautiful dress and prepared to meet DJ for their vows by the waterfall.

Jena & DJ said their vows outside next to a waterfall, it was a beautiful spot for the ceremony.

The bridesmaids had red dresses and their flowers really were a beautiful collection of reds, orange, yellow and greens.

I love this 'exit' shot from the ceremony, they could not stop smiling!

During the formals, we had a small helper with her camera, I wonder how these turned out?

After the pictures, it was time to head to the reception, food and of course dancing. There were some tender moments and some fun ones during the first dance.

Labor Day weekend - college football games, bar-b-ques, three days off work, and Heather and Jonathan's beautiful wedding in Monroe! In the short time that we have known these two, it has really been a blessing to see just how much in love they are! The wedding day completely revolved around their ceremony, as Heather put it, "thats what its all about"! What great words of wisdom when its so easy to get caught up in all the celebration that goes with it.

It was early Saturday morning, and we left out extra early, as we did not know how much Georgia Bulldogs football traffic there would be on our way to meet Heather and her bridesmaids at Roxy's hair salon. Between 3 stylists the girls were prettied up in record time and we were off to the church.

Heather's bouquet was beautiful with hydrangeas and white roses. The bridesmaid's had similar ones to hers.

After we got the girls dressed it was time for the "Shoe Shot" on the steps of the church. A special request from Heather! We love having artsy couples who let us play during the day!

We all knew that Heather was going to be teary when she saw Jonathan waiting on her at the alter. I love that he was as moved as she was.

The church was wonderful and had a balcony, great for getting great overall shots of the ceremony and catching moments that the bride & groom don't get to see.

After communion, Jonathan leaned over and whispered something to Heather, being in the balcony afforded us the opportunity to capture this tender moment.

Heather and Jonathan personalized their vows and there were touching and funny moments in each of theirs.

The Kiss! We know she's in love with this "foot-poppin" kiss :)

As they were exiting the church, Heather was super excited. Some of her clients were in the balcony and she waved her bouquet in the air at them!

Heather & Jonathan are such fun clients and their wedding party was up for fun pictures!

One of our favorite detail shots is always the rings, and finding fun ways to show them off. This time we used a bouquet for fantastic backdrop.

The cake was a beautiful creation and featured their initials in the decoration. It tasted wonderful :) as did the chocolate grooms cake!

The reception was full of fun and tender moments. The first dance as a married couple, a dance with their parents, cake cutting and more!

Heather & Jonathan opted for a guest book made with images from their engagement session and had a helper make sure it made the rounds of each table at the reception so everyone could add their well wishes in it for them. Heather's sister adds her note to the book...

Heather's sister and Jonathan's brother toasted the couple with stories about growing up with them and tributes to their relationship.

Even one of the little guests decided to add her comments...

A few weeks before the wedding, we had talked with Heather and Jonathan to see if they wanted to do a private photoshoot before they headed out on their honeymoon, and they were completely game for this idea! We met them in downtown Monroe after they left the reception for a few quick pictures. Talk about fun!

Safe Girls Strong Girls 3rd Annual Gala and Auction

Thursday night Cat & I had the pleasure of volunteering our time (and cameras) for Safe Girls Strong Girls at their Third Annual Gala and auction. The Gala was held at the elegant Villa Christina in Dunwoody.

Safe Girls, Strong Girls is a non-profit organization committed to breaking the silence of Childhood Sexual Abuse and to giving girls their voices back. Through Camp CADI, for one week the girls get to be girls again by providing a place for these girls who have been traumatized to heal. Founder, Amy Barth and Rachel, one of the counselors from a recent Camp CADI, both spoke to the Gala attendees about Camp and how it has helped the girls and themselves.

The event featured music from Audrey StClair who has an amazing voice as well as many other talents. I can't wait to get her new CD to enjoy while traveling to shoots this fall. During the time before the live auction, there were a pair of artists doing caricature drawings. They were fantastic and the attendees loved them.

The Master of Ceremonies for the night was local TV & Radio Personality, Tom Sullivan, who is currently the host of Atlanta and Company on 11 Alive. It was a pleasure meeting Tom, and he was a great choice to speak about Safe Girls Strong Girls and run the live auction.

Heather and Jonathan Engagement Session

Sunday we met up with our awesome couple, Heather and Jonathan, at Piedmont Park in the heart of Atlanta for their engagement shoot. It wasnt long ago that Heather contacted us about shooting their wedding, and at the time we did not know what a blessing it was going to be getting to know them!

It was a typical warm and steamy Atlanta summer day as we met up at the entrance to the park. This shoot started out with a bang and it just kept rolling as we followed these love birds. Their story is a true love story, having met some nine years ago at a Christian music festival, and finally met back up after drifting apart and out of touch for years. As Heather said, she knew Jonathan was the one long ago, it just took time for everything to finally fall into place.

We followed them around the nooks and crannies of the park, watching just how much in love these two are! We really enjoyed our time with them! Here are a few pictures from their session, and be sure to click here to watch their slideshow!

Merry and Neal's Beautiful Callaway Wedding

Last Saturday we had the priveledge of photographing the wedding of Merry and Neal. It wasnt long ago that I first spoke with Merry about photographing her upcoming wedding at beautiful Callaway Gardens. We did not get a chance to meet prior to their wedding day, so Catherine and I were excited to meet Merry, Neal, and their families! The ceremony was to take place late afternoon at the Ida Cason Callaway Memorial Chapel with reception following at the Callaway Lodge. There was a hint of rain in the air as we met up with Merry and her family Saturday afternoon while she was getting ready for the 6:30 ceremony (click pictures for a larger view).

Blake, the handsome ringbearer, was quite interested and a big helper!

Once Merry was dressed and ready, we headed over to the Sibley Center for a few quick bridal portraits in the gardens before needing to head out for the ceremony. Isnt her dress just gorgeous!

The Chapel is just gorgeous, built on the edge of a lake with a beautiful running stream and water fall on the backside. The stone Chapel is filled with gorgeous stained glass windows, each set of windows representing the pine forests, hardwood forests, and different flowers of the four seasons. This is one of those enchanting places where you could just take pictures all day, and we would have had there been the time!

There are not a lot of "hiding spots" at the Chapel, but here we find Neal the handsome groom hanging out with his best man Rob.

Ellie, spreads flowers down the main asile. She so purposefully placed handfuls of petals exactly where she wanted them! So cute!

Amidst all the last minute jitters, Merry and her Dad share a quick laugh just before entering the Chapel and heading down the asile.

With this ring I thee wed...

I think the joy has taken over at this point!

Once all the family photos were finished and everyone headed for the reception, we took the last few minutes for a little quiet time alone with the bride and groom. Isnt this one just gorgeous!

With the Chapel located at the tip of a lake, I shot this one across the water so I could get this beautiful shot of the happy couple in front of this gorgeous chapel.

After family shots and a few alone with the bride and groom, we headed over to the Callaway Lodge for the reception. The table center pieces were these beautiful lighted vases with long stem roses - beautiful touch!

After a delicious dinner of lasagna, chicken, tortelini, eggplant parmesan, vegatables, and more, it was time to cut this beautiful, yet delicious cake!

Merry and Neal, it was a true pleasure to meet you and your families on your special day! We really appreciate all the hospitality you extended to us throughout the day and weekend! Catherine and I hope you enjoy this preview of your wedding day, there will be plenty more to come in the near future!

Baby Carly

Almost 2 weeks ago, I was honored to be part of the arrival of Carly Rose. She is the third child for my friends Jennifer & Russ. Due to the hour her big brother and sister were asleep but I hear they were all excited to finally meet their baby sister.

She is so cute and this outfit says it all....

After the delivery I let the family get into a routine before I came to visit again with my camera last Friday. Big brother, Ben, made sure I knew she was 8 days old! He is so proud of his baby sister and had a big day showing her off to his classmates.

Nekesha's Maternity Session

On Saturday I spent the afternoon with Nekesha and Antonio. It was a lot of fun meeting them and getting to know them.

These newlyweds are expecting a baby girl the end of May. I am excited for their birth session as they are a fun couple! Here are a few of my favorites from the session.

Welcome Baby

Bonnie and Kevin

Saturday we had the honour of photographing the wedding for Bonnie and Kevin. Last summer I had the priviledge of capturing Kevin's proposal to Bonnie, and we have been waiting and waiting for their wedding day to finally arrive!

We did their engagement session back in February after a handful of reschedules due to bad weather. I just realized we had not posted pictures from their session, you can see pictures from their session in this slideshow of their sign-in book.

The wedding day forecast was rain early with clearing skies later in the day. We started the day early, catching up with Bonnie and the girls getting ready for the late morning ceremony.

Since the ground was soggy after the rain, we had some fun keeping Angela's high heels out of the mud for pictures before the ceremony!

Since Kevin and Bonnie did not see each other before the ceremony, the guys were 'hidden' in the stairwell on the other side of the church. Little did we know that the door was locked... preventing run away grooms?

North Star's pastor, Mike Linch performed the ceremony for Bonnie and Kevin and added many words of wisdom for them

Including reminding Kevin that after Bonnie said "I DO" he had to respond the same, eliciting this response...

During the lighting of the unity candle Carol Shreve sang 'The Canvas' a beautiful song she wrote, that as Mike Linch said, gave us a beautiful lesson.

After the ceremony were more pictures before letting the bridal party head to the reception. They were good sports about it too!

Before heading out to the reception, we took Bonnie & Kevin off for a private portrait session and let them reflect on their first moments as Husband and Wife. Of course we had to get some shots with the Rolls Royce Limo.

Upon arriving at the reception at Henry's Uptown in Acworth, we had to get a picture in front of the Coca-Cola sign (a favorite of Bonnie's)

They had personalized M&Ms so why not photograph their rings in them!

After a wonderful buffet and some dancing it was time for dessert! The beautiful creation was made by Publix and tasted as wonderful as it looked!

The Goble Family

Well another of my doula friends from Georgia Birth Network is expecting!!! I spent some time with Jennifer, Russ, Ben & Elly on Saturday to take some pictures before baby #3 makes his or her appearance.

The kids love to read with mom and dad, and this book was a fun to look at with them. It's a Search & Find book (kind of like Where's Waldo) where they kids had fun finding Mickey & Friends in the pages.

Lets Go Racing!

"Hey, can you guys come take some pictures for us?" This was the call we got from our friend Amy as she told us she was sending her husband Jim to racing school as a gift for his retirement from the Airforce. Jim is an avid car and race fan, so I couldnt wait to go see what race school was all about. This was the Speed Tech Racing School being held at the massive Atlanta Motor Speedway. Jim started early in the morning with classroom and track trials with the Speed Tech instructors. We caught up with Jim mid-morning and prior to his 18 lap solo run around the track.

Almost time to go. The school only allows 5 or 6 cars to run together at one time, so the drivers were divided up into groups.

As the first group runs the track, Jim takes a few thoughtful moments as the excitement builds. The cars run 600+HP and with no instructor in the car, Im sure all the track rules and operation of the car are running through Jim's mind.

Its time to roll!

Drivers are assigned cars based on their physical dimensions, as distance to pedals, steering wheel, etc. are all fixed and non-adjustable. Jim was lucky enough to draw the number 3 Dale car!

He Has A Name...

A few weeks ago I was honored to photograph the birth of this beautiful boy and am happy to show you more of baby Roman Scott Feinauer.

Emma and I had a blast spending the afternoon with our friends Nichole & Scott and the kids and photographing Roman again for his newborn session. He was 2 weeks old during this session and was so cute and cooperative :)

Roman loved my basket with the soft blanket and slept away from mom or dad for a while. It was hard taking him out to come home. I think Emma would have packed him right up to bring home to play with her

Darling Kristen

I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon with this darling one year old and her family. Kristen has big beautiful eyes and just LOVES her daddy.

DeMerritt Family

Erica nominated her family in our Capture The Love Contest and was selected for a family photo session.

Last week, I had fun meeting Erica, Ron, Kai and baby Ari as well as Erica's mother & sisters who were spending their spring break in town. Although the morning was a bit stressful due to an unexpected glitch in their kitchen remodel, I was able to get some great shots of them interacting with each other that I think Captured the Love in their family.

N-Sight Workshop

I had am amazing weekend helping with Tricia Lee Whitmer and Mike Moreland's N-Sight Workshop. I was the all-purpose helper and documented the workshop for them. We had 'amazing' weather in Atlanta on Saturday and were able to shoot in Cloudy/Overcast Skies, Puddles, Wind, Window Light, Indoors, Rain, Hail Storms, Sunshine, Twilight, Dark and in the Headlights. Talk about 'going with the flow'!!!

Tricia and Mike gave us lots of tips on photographing Brides, Seniors and Couples and helped the 8 photographers that were attending with everything from posing and lighting to composition and interacting with your clients.

Our first shoot of the day was at Villa Christina in Dunwoody, where we photographed a beautiful bride in both inside and outside settings. We had beautiful overcast skies, a bit of sun and some wind (where I ended up wrapped in the bride's veil, I'm not sure any of them got a picture of that!)

Here are some shots of the group and a few of my favorite images of the bride.

After lunch we had a session with a cute teenager and learned about shooting seniors and using ordinary objects and the areas around us to create unique images. We started out in a industrial area outside an auto body shop, and used one of the guy's convertible as a prop.

Then we headed to Roswell Mill where she wore her prom dress and we shot in a falling apart building with these huge rusty gears. During this session it started to sprinkle then thunder and the skies opened up (scampering uphill in the mud trying to keep camera gear dry is FUN!) and then came quarter sized Hail.

Now that we were all soaking wet the sun came out and we headed to Mike & Tricia's studio to shoot a few more pictures in the field and at a cool run-down garage.

This image is one of my favorites. It was taken against a trash dumpster!

We had dinner at Mellow Mushroom and got a chance to get to know each other better while waiting for that magic evening hour to shoot our couple in historic Roswell. It was fun getting their personality to come out while we shot them in an alleyway, in front of stores and then in the dark in front of a brick wall lit with headlights from Mike's car.

I have many more images to edit and lots of information to digest from the weekend, I may have to do another blog post :) I now have more things to add to my gear wish list (especially since I don't plan on giving my dear husband back his camera or lenses that I borrowed!) and to torment the kids practicing all the things I learned this weekend.

Labor Pains

It was a long night but this morning my friend Nichole had her baby! I was honored to be included in the process. Along with her husband, Scott, the Midwives and a doula friend the time was passed talking and laughing. This is their 5th child and I was amazed at how well she did delivering this precious little one. (It almost makes me want to have another one if I could!)

9:17 in the morning of Wednesday, March 12th Scott delivers their baby coached by the midwives with their 3 oldest children (Isabella who turned 7 on Monday, Sophie and Joey) and hands the newborn baby BOY to Nichole.

Belly Casting

Recently the Georgia Birth Network had a workshop for Doulas and Birth Professionals wanting to learn to do pregnant belly casts for their clients. With the help of 6 'models' we had a fun and messy afternoon. Instead of getting really messy, I used my camera to document the process.

Thanks to Nichole who offered the use of her kitchen, Beatriz for organizing the event, GBN members Joyce, Tonia, Crystal, Annette, Kate and Karen for doing the castings and of course Jennifer B, Jennifer G, Linda, Tamar, Bianca and Catherine for offering their lovely bellies.

Hurry Up Little One

Any day now my friend Nichole and her family will welcome baby number 5 to their family. I had a great time visiting with them the other day and taking some maternity photographs and planning for her homebirth.

Nichole is a Doula and the founder of the Georgia Birth Network in addition to apprenticing with a wonderful midwife who will be there to help deliver this baby. We've been friends for a while now and have worked to educate many mothers in the local area.

Here are a few images from her maternity session, I can't wait till the birth, I lost the pool as I guessed the baby would have made an appearance over the weekend, but maybe my other guesses will hold. (positive vibes headed your way so we see each other very soon)

Rachel And Stan's Wedding

This past Sunday we photographed the wedding of Rachel and Stan at the beautiful Flint Hill Plantation in Norcross, GA. The ceremony and reception were well attended by many family members and friends, and it was obvious of the awesome relationship that Stan and Rachel hold with all of them!

We started the day early, catching up with Rachel and all the girls at the Norcross Hilton where they began hair and makeup before heading for Flint Hill. The atmosphere was light hearted with much laughter, singing, and fun throughout the afternoon.

Stan sent Rachel a card before the wedding, with a love note and a gift certificate from their favorite Tattoo Shop.

While the girls were getting ready, I took a little break and found the guys at the Hampton Inn around the corner. The guys were hanging loose, relaxing, and watching TV while they waited for their time to get ready. They were still hanging out when I had to leave to meet up with Catherine who was with the girls as they headed for Flint Hill for final wedding preparations and pictures before the evening ceremony.

Rachel and the girls dressed in the Brides Room in the Inn that featured a great mirrored wall and vintage touches. Rachel looked stunning in her dress and beautiful lace jacket made by one of her bridesmaids.

After a few portraits it was time for the ceremony. Rachel and her father headed down the isle to "Rachel's Waltz" composed by her father.

Stan & his groomsmen hammed it up for us and made for some great pictures.

Rachel & the lovely bridesmaids, which included her sisters Emma, Hannah and Abigail who are as beautiful and fun as Rachel. (Catherine had such fun laughing with all of you)

Little Madison, Stan's neice, was so cute and was happy to pose for us a few times. This is one of my favorites.

Rachel & Stan had a beautiful cake, decorated in blue and chocolate.

The grooms cake was a wonderful chocolate tower adorned with berries. At the suggestion of the Wedding Director, the best man helped Stan cut it making for some fun.

You can just feel the love that these two share. It was so wonderful to watch them together.

Lourdes And Patrick Wedding Slideshow

I have many cousins who have admitted that they knew my Grandparents would be there even when their own father wasn’t.

Who knows, we may still have another 20 years with them but it would really mean a lot for them to have the opportunity to have professional portraits that showcase a love that many of us long to know."

Capture the Love in Your Life....

We are in the process of testing out some portrait ideas and techniques and our kids are getting tired of "playing" with us. So we are looking to find some fresh faces.

Do you know a deserving child or family in the Atlanta area that have great personalities and would make great subjects for our portraits? If so, then nominate them to win a free session with us.

Images from these sessions will be used for studio samples, promotional materials and will be featured on our website.

Diary Of A Washed Up Rock Star Wedding Photographer Part 1

Rachel & Stan's Engagement Session

We had such fun getting to know Rachel & Stan better during their engagement session. They are a great couple and we are excited to be photographing their wedding.

They braved the chilly temps here in Atlanta and the hockey fans in town for the NHL All-Star Weekend for a session at Centennial Olympic Park.

We stopped in at the cafe in the park to warm up with some coffee and snacks.

This is one of my favorites from inside the cafe. They took off their coats and were enjoying a moment "alone". Their outfits look right out of the 40's and fit in with their love of 'classic country music'.

The beautiful engagement ring has been passed down to them from a family member, making it even more special.

We had some fun by the park entrance...

On Sunday we met up with them again at Liberty Tattoo, where Rachel was finishing up on a tattoo, to add some color to the session. The building had some colorful graffiti on the wall that made a fantastic backdrop.

After getting the shots on Sunday, we headed to Qdoba Mexican Grill for burritos and a preview of the images and to talk about their February 24th Wedding at Flint Hill Plantation. Everyone is excited about the wedding including us!

We had a great time and hope you enjoy the slideshow, we had a tough time selecting images to fit the song as there are so many good ones! (some had to be cut but are in the proofing gallery)

Lourdes & Patrick

Last Saturday we had an awesome day photographing the wedding of Lourdes and Patrick! The beautiful afternoon wedding was held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marietta, GA. We know that Lourdes and Partick would love to see the images so here's a sneak peek at the highlights of the wedding. (click pictures for a larger view)

It was a beautiful and sunny January day, and we caught up with the bride as she arrived at the church to finish some last minute details and begin getting ready for the ceremony.

Lourdes carried a boquet of white roses and orchids made by Julieann's Rose Garden that was just gorgeous.

This beautiful flower arangement contained favorite flowers of family members that had passed away.

Lourdes hurt her finger a few days before the ceremony and had a "stand in" band just in case her beautiful rings would not go on her finger. (We hope it was not broken and taking off the tape did not make it worse)

These chocolate mice from Puri's Bakery were way too adorable, and very tasty! They were packaged nestled in iridescent shreds in little white boxes for the guests to take with them. (We had to bring some back to Emma, they were so cute!)

Lourdes was escorted down the isle by two of her sons, Alex & Quinin while her other son, Goyo was an alter server for the ceremony.

We snuck the bride and groom away from the reception for a few intimate shots outside the church. The rectory is a beautiful old home so we took advantage of the scenery.

For their first dance, their good friend, Dr. Saunders Jones, Jr played the sax for them.

They had a beautiful cake from Best Dang Bakery Around, topped with a vintage looking topper.

Though they were "dainty" with the cake they had fun anyway!

Lourdes had a special song to dance to with each of her sons

She danced to "Butterfly Kisses" with Quinin and tears needed to be wiped away.

Now, talk about energy! Lourdes and Patrick closed out the evening dancing to their hearts content.

Tutu Fun

We are now offering "Tutu Fun" Theme Portrait Sessions! Little girls love playing dress up and a trunk full of tulle ballerina tutus in a rainbow of colors, magic wands, gloves, tiaras, beads and other fun props makes this a fun filled session.

Jackson Turns One!

I met Jackson and his mom, Dee, at Elyse's Birthday Party last year. It was fun photographing his birthday and meeting his family and friends. He has amazingly blue eyes and a bright smile which he kept me on my toes trying to capture. Here's one of my favorite images of him as he was crawling into his play house.

Happy New Year to All of You! We would like to thank all of our clients, friends, and family for supporting our efforts with an outstanding 2007! We feel really blessed by all the awesome people we met and all the new friendships we made this past year! And on top of it all, we really had a blast doing what we love - capturing your moments for you to enjoy for a lifetime!

With the start of 2008, we are unveiling our new website! We were experiencing some issues with our old website with the different internet browsers, so we have decided to unleash all new flash sites from our web partners at http://www.portfoliositez.com/ and man do they rock! We have split our wedding and portraits into two separate sites, either of which can be accessed from our splash page at http://www.inthemomentphotographs.com/ (our old site is now down, so http://www.mcwarrenphoto.com/ now links to the new site as well).

We are still in the process of adding new images to our galleries, but all information is current, so check them out!

We have restructured our wedding pricing and package offerings to bring you all day wedding coverage so that we can best cover your event. Our new pricing allows us to offer high quality hand made albums from Leather Craftsman, KISS, and Willowbook at reasonable prices. We are continuing to offer our a'la carte pricing so that you can build your own wedding package. All album packages include your hi-resolution digital files for your own personal use! We are also offering canvas gallery wraps in a number of sizes as well as other fine products. Contact us for details!

We have also made some changes to the portrait packages that we offer. Now all of our portrait sessions include a custom designed coffee table book featuring 25 of your favorite images from the session in addition to the on-line slideshow and proofing gallery. All of our special multi-session packages now include a custom designed storybook album!
